Of all of the toys that Haley has I would have to say that her little soccer ball that I paid $1 for is tops on her list. I bought the little ball at a dollar store and she always ends up searching through her toy box for it, passing the expensive toys by. She does love soft toys that squeak.
One of her more recent addition to her collection is a scarecrow. When you push it's chest it makes a noise like a real crow. Haley cannot keep from attacking it when it makes that noise. Of course, Skylar (the scarecrow - he came with that name, honest, it was on his tag:raz: ) had to have some adjustments before Haley could play with him. His yarn hair had to be cut off. Obviously, the makers of this toy don't know dachshunds! Haley likes to grab Skylar by the arm and shake him violently! Come to think of it, she does that with most all of her toys. :D

but they are equal opportunity with respect to toys - they seem to like all of them. Their favorite might have been the pillow
- yes I know a pillow's not a toy -
they climb inside the pillowcase together and wrestle and bark at each other. Sometimes there is a pillow independently moving along our kitchen floor.:circle: :sarcastic
Tristan (our last little boy) was obsessed with fuzzy squeakers. And Amber, my (mom's) cocker's, favorite toy has always been a rubber ball that belonged to our first cocker, Shelly. Amber MUST bring the ball everywhere.
Any pictures of Haley and her scarecrow?:D sounds so cute.

Kim,
Of the many pictures of Haley, I don't think I have one of her and her scarecrow! I'll have to get one. don't have a digital camera yet either. Can't wait until I can take digital pictures of her.
I bet your two playing in the pillowcase is just TOO cute.
Haley likes to play fetch with her fluffy toys. And she is even getting better and bringing them back. Of course, I usually have to say "drop it" to get her to let me throw it again. :D
I will try to post a picture of my Haley girl soon. Never posted any pictures though. Might take some practice.
Have you ever noticed that dachshunds always want to play with noisy toys when you are trying to do something else? Gotta love 'em!

NO KIDDING! I think that Lynx's breeder got a good week of chuckles after she kindly gave us Lynx's favorite toy- a round stuffed dog that talks when you touch it. Even the slightest paw push will set it off... it goes "WHEEEEEEEEE!!! RUFF, RUFF, RUFF!!" or "Hee-hee-hee-hee WHOoooOOOAAA!!!" AND THE DOGS BROKE THE DARN OFF BUTTON!!! Needless to say, that toy doesn't get much floortime anymore.
The worst thing is- it's actually a human baby's toy! Can you imagine how much fun it would be to give that thing to your brother or sister's new baby? Just make sure you spread the love evenly: a drum set for the pre-teen, some GREAT speakers for the teenage brother... :D

How fun to read about every baby's favorite toys.
Love those pics of the pillowcases! I gave one to ours, and they fought like crazy at first, Ruben out, Trenyce in. Then they chewed holes in it. I had to take it away.
We have one of those "talk to me treat balls."
One message was an accident. My 7 year old had his finger on the button when my husband left the basement and the dogs had a fit. Shawn was yelling, "GUYS, I'M STILL HERE!" That was annoying at 5:30 AM! Right now, my dear husband has it saying "BARK, BARK, HUMP, HUMP" repeatedly, and as I snuggled in for a few extra minutes this AM, I got to listen to that.
:afraid: When friends watched the dogs one evening they recorded, ""HELP. HELP, GET US OUT OF THIS BASEMENT" in high pitched voices to be a message from the puppies. That was pretty funny the next morning.
We've just replaced a teeny stuffed, squeaky squirrel that they sleep with in their crate. Take it out in the AM, I put it back in each night. Replaced it with the medium sized one. I barely got it unwwapped before they fought over it. I tossed it in the crate with them, and this morning they dragged it out to play with some more.
GREAT stories and pics :D I'm still chuckling over them. Love the talking ball saying "help get us out of the basement". Thank you so much for sharing. ;)
