The Mid-Atlantic Dachshund Picnic is being held on Saturday Oct 4th, at the Algonkian Regional Park Sterling, VA. This is just outside of Washington, DC near Dullas Airport.

If you are in the area or just want to come for the weekend please, plan on spending the day with us.

All of the major dachshund rescue groups will be there, along with Doxie Delights, Dachshund Treasures, a photographer, a trainer, anda an animal communication. There will be a parade, obedience training, dachshund games, demonstrations and lots of raffles.

Since Oct 4th is the Feast of Staint Francis, a Blessing of the Animals will be conducted by the Rev. Candance Shultis.

Also at this event DRNA is raffling off there awesome Dachdund Quilt.

Last year we had over 200 people and their dogs show up. It was a blast.

Mark and I really wanted to make it at least one more of the dachshund picnic this year but things keep getting in the way.
Since we wont be able to make it to the picnic I bought my raffle tickets a month or so ago. The quilt is beautiful and the proceeds go to such a good cause.

You can see the quilt and buy raffle tickets online at the DRNA website.

A beautiful handmade quilt will be raffled off at the Annual Mid-Atlantic Dachshund Picnic on October 4, 2003, in Sterling, VA. You do not need to be present to win. The winner will be notified by telephone.
All of the work was done by members of DRNA and/or their family members. Each square represents a rescue dog(s) that DRNA has helped.

The finished quilt is twin size with enough length for a pillow tuck..

Sorry, you can not make it this year. It is helpd the 1st saturday of Oct, so plan on next year.

I helped make the quilt, by doing 4 of the squares. One of my squares, shows a little red dachshund in a cart. I made it to honor my girl Sassy. It is a very beautiful piece of work that any one would love to own.

Maybe Steve and Sayali and the wieners and I will try and drop by for a bit...The three pups are all great; poor old Henry is losing his mind, his hearing and has lost his eyesight.

We kind of miss being really active in the wiener world.
