i am feeding her nutro natural choice lamb and rice formula. dexter has to have a special food b/c his tummy gets upset and he has slime stools. (yes, dexter has issues - he is the one who had the recent back surgery on the back problems thread :)
the special food seems to help him, but it is so expensive, i thought i would feed dee dee a quality, yet cheaper food. dee dee's stomach is pretty sturdy. she eats everything. she seems to like dex's food better. what should i do. should i change her food? add something too it?
thanks! dana

Nutro Natural Choice lamb and rice formula for the longest time and recently switched them to Natural Balance with a tbs of pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix) mixed in. Never a morsel left these days. We had been mixing the pumpkin in the NNC also with the same result. No one ever doesn't eat here. :)

You said she likes it better? She may be testing you, I wouldn't give her the choice, in other words called "tough love". Do you feed them separately, if not you probably should then she wouldn't be tempted.

If you wanted to give in to her you could put a tablespoon or less in her food to make her think she is getting Dexter's food. Mark has a good idea putting pure pumpkin on it.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

the pumpkin goes over really well here too. Thanks to Zeke we now add eukenuba light moist food in with the Nutro Natural Lamb and rice and it is a hit.

a.k.a. pureed no-salt green beans may also inspire Dee Dee to eat. I feed Solid Gold kibble with Sea Meal, and add a teaspoon of the "green gravy", plus a teaspoon of the wet Solid Gold. My girls are starving dachsies - to hear them tell it! I have never had them refuse any kibble or wet food. Sorry to hear Dee Dee is having a problem eating. Julia B.

like NUPRO which is liver based...Dogs go nuts for it and of course it has vitamins and minerals that are very good.
