Hates rubber toys?

OK...strange, but both my little ones will NOT touch a toy made of rubber. Plastic ok, latex ok, but not those solid ones they make the puppy tug toys, balls or Kongs out of. I have never bought a Kong because of this. Mine will shake their heads and spit if given a toy made of rubber?

Rubber toys just aren't as fun as pulling stuffing out of soft ones, I guess! Mine love their Kongs- if there's something in them!;) Dutch has destroyed a rubber hotdog toy- he did it so fast that I didn't even notice until he had chopped both ends off!! He also ate right through a Rhino (Kong-like thing with bumps on the outside), so no more of those. They barely even enjoy the rubber Nylabones- even the flavored ones get little puppy love. Maybe it's a doxie thing- maybe just common among little dogs? :dog:

None of mine like them. Miller loves stuffies, but won't play with rubber squeeky toys.

Our's won't do rubber either. In fact, they will only do Booda brand stuffies (very fussy little devils I have!).
Otto will be somewhat interested in his kong IF it is stuffed with treats, but is such a gratification junkie that he will give up pretty darn quick if he doesn't succeed in getting something out.

shimmy loves any rubber toy if it squeaks. she loves to take them apart and remove the squeaker. the only rubber toy she has intact is the kong and a plastic squeaky bone from old navy.
i bought her a rubber football for the season but she has chewed up half of it already.

My three will play with the vinyl toys and not destroy them. Latex though and stuffed toys forget it! They are torn apart and dstroyed in 5 min, but they do have more fun with them! I have vinyl toys around here that were Magic's as a puppy. That's over 9 years and counting. Even my pup Mirri follows the same trend..strange, I guess she picked it up from the other two.

maybe they dont like the taste. Graci has one rubber toy, and she loves it. Although she broke it in a couple of minutes.

she doesnt destroy the rubber toys, but the stuffies she LOVES to rip apart. :D

Maybe they don't like the feel of it, maybe the scent of it, who knows. Buddy will play with anything that squeaks. He has a set of noisy balls that are supposed to be cat toys that he loves as well. But he will not touch the rubber Kong toys I bought him, sticks his nose in the air even if they have treats in them. I went a bit nuts when he was coming and bought a bunch of different types of toys, those are the only ones he just won't touch.

Hey, I never really thought about it. But now that I have Charlie doesn't like rubber ones either. We bought him a Puppy Kong and he WON'T touch it unless there's a treat..
