Yep!
I try to do it three times a week, but the vet said daily is best. I'm trying to remember to do it more often.
They love the poultry-flavored paste.

Yep we are tooth brushers over here too i do it about every other day or so... *i forget too* one thing that helps me remember is when i brush mine. I like to toothbrushs with the long handle better than those thingys that fit over your finger. Mine like the poultry paste too...

Beanie is not fond of the toothbrush, so I bought the finger cap thing. By the way, when I tried to use the toothbrush on him, he freaked, and I said to my husband, I've got it, we are going to be millionaires, I have this great invention for a finger cap to brush dogs teeth! Sure enough, I went to the pet store the next day, and there it was. So I am still slaving away 9-5.
Anyway, the more you do it, the more they get used to it.

I've never brushed Owen's teeth. I have a cool tooth brush all ready to use, but his teeth are stellar clean... no tartar!! I'm convinced it's from chewing on raw marrow bones!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

I too was told by the vet to brush the little guy's teeth everyday and was given some toothpaste and finger toothbrush. However, I found a different alternative that seems to work better and cleans teeth. It's called breathfriend. Their web site is www.breathfriend.com. (http://www.breathfriend.com.) Just a drop or two on each side and you're done.
Take a look at the site..maybe you'll like it.

I brush Twix'x teeth when I remember. I started when she was really little and just rubbed her face a lot and progressed to rubbing her teeth with just my finger. I bought a baby human toothbrush and that is what I now use with the poultry paste. Twix loves it she will let me do it as long as we are using her toothpaste. Without it forget that toothbrush. She still lets me rub her teeth with just my finger though.

I brush Penny and Maggie's teeth every couple of days. I started with the finger cap type brush, but found that my big index finger took up an awful lot of room in a little dachsie mouth so I use the smallest child size toothbrushes now. Now that it's a routine it goes pretty quickly and easily.
As nasty tempered as Maggie can be about some things, she doesnt' seem to mind getting her teeth brushed.

Wotan gets broiled beef bone, or raw marrow ones too. I really believe that, along with the occasional carrots and crunchies he steals from the big doggies keeps his teeth nice too.
I check often, and am keeping that Col.Sander's 15 herbs and spices flavored dog toothpast in mind...
