And I'm talking big time trouble. Dudley decided Mitzi's Red Bear needed a nose job! Well maybe I should say he thought Red Bear would look better without a nose so he chew it off Sunday night.
What am I gonna do Mitzi is missing her bear terribly. I do have a Purple Bear that is just like Red Bear but purple in color hence the name Purple Bear. She'll nurse on it but she tries to find the red one.
I've looked everywhere for the same kind of bear but I'm not having any luck. Poor Moo - My mom is going to see if she can repair it but as it looks to me he'll need major surgery to fix the big hole where the nose once was.

Oh no the sadness of having a toy lover and a toy killer in the same home. Frank use to enjoy playint with stuffies till Tanner came. Tanner is a toy killer. Frank adjusted trading a few stuffies for a real live brother to wrestle and chase was aworth the loss for him. Now days there are very few stuffies in our home. And they all belong to alpha boy anner jsut ask him::. For some reaso he is content witht he furry hedge hogs he doesn't even kill the squakers in those. He also seems very take with the hamburger Frank picked out for him at Pet Smart last weekend. The Bun is make our of furry material very similar to the hedgehogs.
I've done quite the repair jobs on toys for the killer kids. I remember one Easter I pulled out the dead toy bag or was it bags for the boys. I went to work with needle and thread several hours latter thay must have hab back over 20 toys. Frank was in heaven but by the end of the week Tanner had taken care of all of them and they were back in the repair bags. I have several bags full just sitting around for a lazy day.
At the other extreme was on of our family dachsunds growing up (Candy I think) who got a little pink stuffed dog when she was a pup and had it her entire life. She slept with it got it out if something was bothering her. From time to time a seam would split or a hole would develop (the materal became quite thread bare). When that happened she would bring it to you with a sad look on her face and sweet talk somone into getting out a needle and thread to do a repair. When Pinky was handed back to her she would take it and lick i;s new stiches. You know I think it might have been working on pinky where I first learned how to mend things:D.
Perhaps Mitzi will still love her bear with a big patch where the nose use to be. She most likely will be miffed but might be so releaved at having him back that she will only notice for a short time.
I see red bear in the picture so we have a general idea of what it looked like. Do you know what brand it was? Was it purchased from a pet toy bin or a kids toy bin? We could do a world wide red bear search for you if need be.

If you know who makes red bear or what store you got him in we could all keep an eye out.

Of course any red bear we find just won't be the same it won't have all the right sents. Perhaps it could be a nose transplant donor if it was rejected:D

Even with a big old patch in the middle of his face he will still be Mitzi's loyal friend! Please give him a chance to return to her. :)
Just a shot in the dark here. But would purple bear be interested in donating a nose to red bear. Then maybe purple bear could get a nice new nose from Wal-Mart. :)
If our children saw this thread we would never hear the end of it. They are laughing at me today for buying our dachsies a twin bed!:circle:

Wal-mart and if I remember right it had a tag that said Holiday Time on it. When I saw how much Mitzi loved her bear I went out to buy more of them but I was to late and they only had one purple colored one left. It was in the childrens toy dept.
And I have thought about switching noses with purple bear and if I we can't repair the red one I think that's what we'll try.
I hate to say but I hope none of your little puppers form this kind of attachment to a toy. I didn't plan on her nursing on it at all. All I wanted was for her to have a cuddle buddy while she was in her kennel. I felt sorry for her because I had just taken her from her friends (litter mates) and thought she might like to suggle with something like puppies do. You know across the necks of each other. Oh well!! We'll see what granma thinks she can do to save the nose of the bear. :sarcastic

Could Red bear have a new nose as a big piece of felt or thread? Stupid question but as a kid I demolished a stuffed bear or two and my mother replace noses and eyes with material.

Granma thinks she can fix poor red bear. If not we'll try to find another bear with a white nose and try to replace it. I really hate to do anything major with purple bear because Mitzi will use it as a sub but she's not happy about it.
I've already did a search on ebay and I'll keep checking it cause one never knows what will pop up on there.
I've searched for the toy company that made him it's TOY TRADING CO., INC. I've found it but no red bear as of today. :(

I'm so sorry to hear about Red Bear's predicament. But please don't use poor Purple bear as a nose donor!!!! Whatever you use to sew up Red Bear it can't be worse than certain nose jobs going round Hollywood.:circle:

LOL - I love it Maryanne!
Please let us know how plushie- surgery goes and if Red Bear is back to a reasonable facimile of his former self. We can't have Mitzi mad at Dudley for the special arrangement of her favourite toy!

I have several toys that have had nose-ectomies. I just sew up the hole and eliminate the nose (makes it harder to chew off again). The toys seem to gain a longer life that way!
Good Luck,
