Charlie is now CH Romandachs Goodtime Charlie MS. I am soooooooo excited. He is my first Bred-By Champion. He finished his championship at the Priceville, Alabama shows going Winners and Best of Winners under Robert Stein for 2 points. I am currently at a Flying J north of Birmingham waiting on the Pelham shows this upcoming weekend. Anyone near Birmingham??? LOL

Congratulations to Charlie!!! And to you!!! Our show is week after next if you come to Texas! Of course the deadline was last week. I do plan to visit, watch and cheer for folks I know -- plus do some shopping for goodies. However, we have a whole string of Texas shows in the next month...

I had to duck into your site to check out Charlie... and wow! That color, that head... he is sooo handsome!
I'll always be in awe of stacked photos- I can't imagine my zippy little guys ever standing still, especially in that position.

I can't thank you all enough for the WONDERFUL support you give me. The picture below was taken at the Weston, WV shows. One of his BEST pictures. Hopefully his finishing picture will be just as NICE. I wanted to mark the occasion so I went shopping at the shows. There was a booth that did some kind of sandblast etching into glass. I went through the dachsie pics available for the etching and I was quite disappointed to find NO smooth dachshunds in a stacked profile position. They had a couple of outstanding wires and one decent long, and several smooth heads. Soooooo I had taken the picture below and removed all of the background and printed it out in different sizes. I had seen that they did a few actual photos etched in glass which came with quite the pricetag too. So I asked them if it was possible for them to use the picture of Charlie's profile. (what better way to remember the actual moment than to use his actual picture :D ) So after much discussing and my offering them to use his photo in their book for a good profil of a smooth, she went to work on the project telling me it wouldn't get finished for several weeks because there was such a waiting list. Turns out the photo was an excellent example for her to use and it scanned perfectly and the etching, well it is FANTASTIC. It is a curved glass frame, with a 5x7 photo area on one side and the inscription on the other side and it says "Romandachs 1st Bred-By Champion" then the picture and below the pic it says "CH Romandachs Goodtime Charlie MS, November 8th 2003" Oh and Charlie got a pwesent to mark the occasion. He went shopping too and Mom told him he could have ANYTHING he wanted, so after noing through several toy boxes, sniffing bones and chewies, he finally decided on the toy that was called "Hyde and Sheep" On one side it was a hyde leather and the otherisde was a sheep wool, shaped like a bone with a squeekie in the middle. He got it off the rack several times and he KNOWS it is his and ONLY HIS. He squeeks it to get everyones attention, then lays it at his feet and DARES anyone to come near it. :fierce: LOL You just gotta love a dachsie!!!!!

Romandachs Tanqueray MWCP - AKA Tanqa, The Red Wire Girl I am keeping.
Romandachs Snooter Rooter MSCP - AKA Snooter, The Little Red Charlie Boy which I am keeping as well.
Romandachs Bacardi MWCP - AKA Bacardi for the Red Wire boy. My friend Sherry is taking him.
Romandachs White Russian MSP - AKA Nadia or Miss Naugty which is VERY fitting since she is sooooooooooo Sassy. My frined Laura is taking Nadia. In fact she went home with her this past weekend. Sherry was going to take Bacardi home with her but Bacardi and Tanqa have been sick for a couple of weeks with the "Cough" Sherry had been giving them Injectable Antibiotics for 3 days while we were at the shows. As we was packing up Monday morning to head home, I happened to look into their 3x3 and caught a glimpse of Tanqa and said OMG, What is wrong with her!! I picked her up and her eyes looked like they was ready to pop out of her head, both eyes was pushed outward towards her ears, I don't think there was anyway she was seeing anything normally. I told my friends I thought she was dying. I called my husband and told him about her and he asked what we had been giving her for her cough. I told him and he told me to give her a dex injection and a Benedryl inj. I only had the injectable dex and Benedryl pills. He told me to empty out half of the pill and put the cap back together and give her that with the dex shot. She was having a SEVERE allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I gave the meds but when I went to give her the pill her mouth was swollen and she cried when I tried to open her mouth. I couldn't get the pill past her tongue. I held it in there until the cap dissolved and Sherry gave the dex Sub-q while I held her. After a half hour there was no change so I called my husband back. I asked him how the dex should have been given and he said a vein is best but unlikely to find in such a small pup, IM is the next best and sub-q takes the longest. Sherry HATES to give shots IM and I told her she gave it sub-q and we had NO injectable Benedryl and her mouth was swollen. He told me to give another dex IM and to open the benedryl, mix it with water and give it with a syringe, half the dose. So I gave the shot and we gave her half the benedryl and noticed Bacardi was starting to swell too. We gave Bacardi the shot and the other half of the benedryl liquid and we waited. After another hour Tanqa started looking SOOOO Much Better and Bacardi never did get as bad as Tanqa. We was so busy packing up none of us was paying too much attention to the pups. The reaction came on them so hard and so fast . I keep thinking if I hadn't happened to look in on them that they would have likely died before we were finished packing. It was a VERY Scarey ordeal. We didn't end up leaving Alabama until 1 pm. We stopped every 3 hours to check the pups and make sure the were not swelling again and to give the next dose of Benedryl. My husband said this particular antibiotic is short lived and is usually out of the body in less than 24 hours. They never swelled again. I am adding injectable dex to my medical bag before my next trip. Sorry so long, I just had to share the experience.
BTW Iseespotsdou is my sister Gale. I wanted her to see Charlie's etched frame. She has a dachsie named Dandy Doo. He is a Blk/Tan dapple with 2 blue eyes. He was born on the same day as my Missy Ann, so he just turned 7 yrs old. I can NO WAY draw as good as she can. I am totally amased at the gift she spent her WHOLE life not knowing she had. In the past 2 years she started dabbling a bit and would send me pictures and I would critique them for her and tell her where she needed to work on the picture to improve it. Soon she WAY surpassed my abilities. She likes to tell EVERYONE that she is the baby and she usually gets away with it. She is the oldest of 5 and I am the youngest. Our mother LOVED to draw, paint and do ceramics. I have drawn things every since I can remember. I am 12 credit hours shy of a commercial art degree. on top of being an RN, I quit the commercial art because I finally figured out I was a fine artist and would likely STARVE if I continued on in commercial art. I guess it took me a while to realize what one of my instructors would always tell me. "Aren't you in the WRONG section of the building" When I finally figured it out, I realized he was in the wrong section too and was trying to keep me from making his mistake...why didn't come right out and say it.....LOL

Really glad to hear that both of the puppers are okay - very scary little experience you had there!
Hey - so glad you used Snooter Rooter!! Chris just thought that was the BEST name in the drink book!
The irony is, when I saw the little smooth boy on your pics, I threatened to ask to buy him then and there! Chris of course outlawed the idea of another dog - but at least I can tell him we contributed to his name!
my usual post sign off is very applicable here - CHEERS!

Keep them coming.......I may go this route with future children of Tanqa and Snooter. I don't drink except an occasional Pina Colada. When I went to a website that had names of drinks, there was 8,000 drinks listed. Each letter of the alphabet had about 12-15 pages of names of drinks, after several letters and rebooting I got a little overwelmed looking at them. Juliette emailed me privately with the Snooter Rooter, White Russian and several others. A friend at the shows gave me the Tanqueray and the night before we left we went to O'Charlies and came up with Bacardi.
