Baby Girl's 7th (I feel so old!!!!) birthday is coming up. I was debating whether I should make a party for her. Have you ever made a Birthday Party for any of your dogs?

They don't get parties, but they certainly get treats and acknowledgement. We don't know Otto's birthday, so he gets his treats on his forever home day.

It was just my roomate and best friend but we did a birthday cake even. It was actually a muffin with yogurt for frosting. The candles were dog bisquits. It was so cute, and they all drooled over it. That was for my Ozcar, long gone now. But a nice memory!

I have had birthday parties for my dachsies. I baked Bogart a cake last year for his. I went to a 1st birthday party for a dachshund in December of this year complete with birthday cake, party games and prizes!

I have had small birthday parties through the years. They are small celebrations and usually we take the celebrant and crew out for a ride and (I know it's a no no) they get chicken fingers or a sweet. Munckins at dunkin donuts are great! Then it's a trip to petco for the prized birthday present to take home!

but we do make it a special day with treats and a trip to petsmart. Missy's birthday is Sept. 27, Casey's is October 28th (the day he came home with me), and Zeke's is June 18th his forever home day. But a party is definetly not out of the question.

with my other dogs. BUT since I have TWO little ones with the same birthday, we should probably do something more special. Maybe a trip to Petsmart & let them pick something out:)

Well...when Lillie turned 4 months old, we got her lots of toys and made a big deal about it. But that's the only one. When she turns one, YES I'm planning on having a party with her cousins and maybe some close friends! And when Max turns 6 in Jan. he will get a party too!! I just CAN'T wait!!! :)

Not huge parties, but we always have gifts, hats, doggie cupcakes, and usually some of my sons' friends. Some years there are more friends than others but we always celebrate!

A lot of times we do Petunia's at our 4th of July BQ--granny always makes a cake for them. Gunners we do with X-Mas, his B-Day is Dec. 22. But on the day of their B-day they get a special meal--usualy chicken breast or a steak. Later in the day they go to the DQ. They also get lots of gifts.

The year before last we had one at the dog park and had all their friends some with dogs and some without. We have an older couple who go to our church who used to have dachshunds and they came also. Some friends with big dogs also that the boys know. Josh's birthday is September 4 and Auggie's is November 4 so we did it in October.
We had party hats and I made doggie cupcakes and homemade Frosty Paws and real cupcakes and snacks for the human guests. We had a great time and of course they made some new friends as other dogs wanted to know what was going on and what they were eating. On their actual birthdays we took them to a local pet store to get a treat and a toy.

Last year we just had family parties. Josh shared his day with our son-in-law in September and Auggie shared his with my husband and I in November. This year we will probably do the same; we have not been to the dog park for some time as we have been doing a lot of camping, canoeing and swimming which can bve done in a much more controlled atmosphere.

I like the idea of celebrating the forever homecoming as we don't know when Gabe's birthday is. He will be one probably around the end of September.

Mocha has been given a birthday pawty every year. I brought bone shaped candles for her cake, and pawty hats. I'm so cheesy like that. lol.

Coco just turned 1 in May and we just did a family party with pupcakes for Coco and Chanel, and regular cupcakes for the hooman's in their lives. I put a candle in the pupcake and helped Coco blow it out, then let him open his gifts, some from Brooke and Chance, and of course I had gone to Petsmart and Petedge the weekend before to shop.

It's fun to help them recognize their special days, we'll be doing the same thing at the end of July for Chanel.

I didn't really give Sailor a birthday party, but I did get him presents and he had to wear a hat and scarf all day that said, "Happy Birthday". :Sun2:

He didn't like me too much that day... lol

But this year, I plan on giving him one and our sig drink will be black and tans. :)

I never have, but I'd like to. Unfortunately, most people I know have big dogs, which would make my asthma and allergies bad, and they also scare Ringo. So even though they are sweet dogs, I could never have a party with them *sigh* And Ringo's bday is in December, so it would have to be an indoor party, which is just not likely at the moment....

For Brandy's 1st birthday (which is two days after my daughters, and 13 days after my son's) we had a combined party for the kids and our doxie. We made a cake, basically I threw some dry dog food in the food processor with some canned food and some plain yogurt, oats, and peanut butter! Frosted it with yogurt and carob chips. It was definitely a hit! She wouldn't wear the party hat, though!!

Annie had a party for her first birthday, three of her friends came over and played in the yard while their mommies all had lunch on the back porch. When her friends went home, Annie gave each of her guests a matching toy thanking them for coming to her party. She didn't have a cake or anything, I didn't want any doggie fights. It was fun, and the guests brought her doggy treats- a bonus!
