Mr. Lance seems to be taking a turn for the better. This morning's um, "business" was still a bit mushy, but solid, and could be picked up in one piece, without having to launch a massive cleaning operation (this made the head-cleaner-upper very happy). YEAH LANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's also eating and playing alot so he must be feeling much better...please keep sending rays though, as we'll be embarking on HW treatment very soon. (week after next probably).

Great News,

Just keep those Lance reports coming in. Good or bad we worry about our little net buddies when we know they are having a hard time and we don't get any reports.

Best wishes and rays,

Tom and the boys (Frank and Tanner)

Hi folks....Lance is not doing well again.

AFter two days of nearly normal stools, we are back to cow-pie stools again. His energy is good though. The doc now says three-four days of NOTHING but hamburger and rice (we had started mixing a little kibble in) and see if that helps.

It's odd--it's like he responds to the meds--but then his body ADAPTS to them, and the giardia takes over again. We're now on day 9 since this started...and mommy is frustrated, worried and generally exhausted....

I'm going to make more hamburger and rice--hopefully he'll eat it.

Hey Lance, hang in there.

Dot,

I understand (not first hand) that this is a very difficult parasite to get rid of. If my memory is correct it sometimes takes a month to get rid of all the nasties in people I'm not sure what is normal in dogs. During the time treatment is taking place there will be flare ups as the Giardia goes through it's life cycle till the drugs manage to kill off all the bugs.

Best wishes and rays,

Tom and the boys (Frank and Tanner)

Poor Lance. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

Try to hang in there. I hear that it is a tough parasite to get rid of.

Sunday's Lance Update: Seem to be doing a bit better, though poopies are still pretty mushy--this morning, a portion was "solid".

Attitude is doing well. Last night, Ance sat with mommy and the other dogs on the "doggie couch" and chewed a nylabone while we watched a movie. The DVD surround sound confuses him though...*laughs*

This morning, he ran around with Chaucer and Gidget and was really acting like a normal dog. He still seems a little gunshy of Steve, but he's starting to follow mommy around kinda like Mary's little lamb.
