Thank you to all of you who gave us the suggestions for vitamins and Glucosamine as well as the sites for wheels. (In addition to the vet's treatments and medication) Mo (Muldoon) is doing so much better since the onset of his back symptoms on January 5th. His wheels are on order. He can walk pretty well. Fast actually. While we are still keeping him confined, he feels the need for speed. Those wheels will not arrive any too soon! Thanks again! Josie and the Doxies

Mo continues to improve. He was out of pain after only three days. Not all of his control is back however, but it is hard to keep him still. The wheels should be here any day now. Dave built all the ramps over the past weekend. Poor Mo will be relegated to the bottom floor of the house. We have 3 levels and he won't be able to get into the kitchen or the upstairs bedrooms. But he can get into the great room and two downstairs bedrooms we use for a TV den and computer room. We are there most of the time anyway. Gosh it is cold here today! Was 22 when we woke up this morning. Very cold for the Pacific Northwest. Josie and the Doxies

Mo continues to get better. We got some wheels for him, but he will not use them. He is having problems learning to go forward.
Every time we put him in the wheels, he just backs up until he hits furniture and stops. Then he lays down on his chest and looks depressed.
Any thoughts on how to get him to use the wheels?

Put a leash on the cart and try to guide him around with gentle pulls showing him to go forward. Keep trying, he will learn how to use it.
Questions:
- Which company's wheels did you get?
- Are Mo's hind legs moving?
- If not, does the cart have tie-ups for his legs?

Hi Josie,
I'm glad to hear that Mo is continuing to improve! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Hang in there . . . he'll master the wheels, yet.
Yes, I was also wondering how his leg movement is?
