How horrible! I've had two cars stolen in the past 17 years and my consolation both times was that nothing of value was in them especially not my dachsies! To have you dog stolen from your home is awful!

That's a terrible thing to happen. I hope he is ok and will be found soon.

Wow- one more reason we're VERY thankful we made it out of our apartment before the robberies started- our boys (and our girl, now- too!) are more precious to me than anything. It takes a very cruel person to do such a thing. :(

What a frightening story, I hope thier dachshund is returned safe and not harmed. My four are more precious to me than anything in my home. Even though I would feel vilolated of having my home robbed, take the material items, they can replaced, my furkids can't!

How quickly they become our children (especially when all I ever wanted was dogs-no kids). How awful. I sure hope they get him back! Ours are chipped for that reason now! I'd just bawl!Reminded me of when my former Pomeranian came up missing one day.
My then husband called me at work to tell me that he came home for lunch and couldn't find the dog. We had a dog door, so the dog could come and go, but one one side of the property was a chain link fence that people coukd see through, and we never locked our gates, so he thought the worst. He got me all upset, naturally, telling me the dog has been stolen.
After work, I raced home crying, and searched high and low. He drove all over the neighborhood, and I searched and called for the dog. Finally around 5:00, I just sat down on the bed and cried. :crying: The I heard scratching on the inside of a closet.
Needless to say, when I opened that door, the poor baby lunged at me, peeing all the way. He'd apparently gotten shut in when I was getting ready for work. He never made a sound during all of our craziness. I was so happy to have my baby back! Rather PO d at the husband.
I hate to see anything like this happen to anyone. These little dogs grab right onto our hearts!

We were broken into once... Not in this house, but the one we moved from before we bought this house. It was in the country and even during broad daylight, not many people would even notice anyone breaking in. They didn't get much, just the VCR and hubby's PlayStation and games. I think the worse part of it was they couldn't figure out which remote went to the VCR, and not the TV and Stereo, so they stole all three. I was very relieved to find that our lab/weim mix was not injured or missing. But, like Fritz, he was such a friendly dog that he probably greeted the theif with a wagging tail and helped him carry everything out to his car.

This is one of my worst fears. I live in a city with a lot of break ins and while I wouldn't care if somebody stole everything I own, I would be devastated if they took my babies.
I am also paranoid about if my house starts on fire while I am gone and the dogs can't get out. Part of me wants to leave the door unlocked so if there is a fire, they will be easy to rescue - the other part of me thinks about the possibility of a break in...
What's a person to do?:(

That is horrible. I do have a dog door so the kids can go out, but gates are padlocked. Also, Lucy will let anyone know that they are strangers if they walk by (she will love them to death if they get close enough though). Tess would snap if someone she didn't know went after her.

Chubby, but entirely adorable. Those poor people...I'll bet it was someone who knows them and the dog, especially since they took the food too!

someone that they knew and they are taking GOOD care of the dog, otherwise I'd hate to hear what happened to the dog. :crying:
