I had to help Austin over the Rainbow Bridge today, his multiply problems were too much for the great ole guy to handle. He was 14 and was down in the front and had problems supporting himself in the rear, he was blind and deaf, he had horrid teeth, he also had thyroid probles just to name a few of his issues.

Please light a candle in his memory.

Furbaby hugs and Kisses to a wonderful ole man even though he was only with me for 34 hours he was loved.

I am so sorry.

I'm glad you were with him and he knew someone loved him. He'll be waiting at the Bridge for you of course.

Yolanda, I'm so sorry to hear this. You did everything you could for Austin and in those 34 hours you showed him love, compassion and respect. Thank you for helping him on his journey... he's waiting at the bridge with all the other souls you've helped along the way.

It's not quantity that counts, it's quality. And those 34 hours he was with you were the best he could have wished for. Sorry to hear he couldn't be with you longer. He is waiting at the Bridge now pain free, wagging his tail.

I'm so sorry to hear that it was impossible to bring his quality of life up, but you truly are an angel. The love you give, and the fact that you were there to help him to the bridge makes all the difference.

One candle being lit for Austin tonight, and as always, an extra cuddle for my two on behalf of him.

I am so sorry that this had to be. But Bless his heart, he was just so terribly in pain with all his poor health problems. He has now gone somewhere beautiful, where pain does not exist. He can now be that puppy he once was.
Those 34 hours that he got to spend with you at the end stop in his life, was probably the best 34 hours he could of ever had. I am sure he knew how much you cared and loved him. Now you have another doxie  looking upon you.
I know it was a decision that was hard to make, but had to be done for his quality of life.
Bless you for your heart as big as the Ocean and the Love as big as the world. You are just one special loving lady. We are all priviledged to know you. There are not many  's out there that do what you do.
Lighting a candle for Austin and his Journey to the Bridge, where he will forever be happy and carefree.
A giant hug from me and my crew to you for being such a wonderful loving lady ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))

I just found this poem today. Yolanda - I hope you know that you are a Rescue Angel.

~ Rescue Angels ~
Tail tucked between your legs,
Confusion in your eyes -
I know it's hard to understand
That someone heard your cries.

When loneliness is all you know
And pain is all you feel
And no one can be trusted,
And hunger's all too real...

That's the time the Lord sees you
And lets you know He's there
That's when He sends His messengers
The hearts that love and care.

Yes, rescuers are angels
You cannot see their wings,
They keep them neatly folded
As they do their caring things.

The medicine to make you well
Good food to make you strong,
And finally to help you learn
That hugs are never wrong.

The perfect place then must be found
The home where you can live
Secure and safe and happy
With joy to get and give.

When you reach your Forever Home,
Your place to now feel whole,
The Angels smile, and off they go
To save another soul.

Please accept my sincere sympathy. What a blessing it was for Austin's last few hours to be spent with you. I know you did all you could, he is at peace now waiting for you at the Bridge. I will light a candle for him to show him the way. Sending prayers to both of you.

Poor little Austim . . . we agree that his last 34 hours with you, Yolanda . . . were his very best 34 hours.

We, who have lost a furkid or more . . . know your pain.

Austin and Wimpy are likely romping together at the Bridge . . . waiting for us.

I am so sorry for the need to make the decision you did, but I know it was the best for him. We, who love dachsies so very much, know that the greatest love is shown by letting go, and offering them up to the peace they may have never known. I feel this must have been the case with Austin. Thank you for having the strength to give him a happier eternal home than his last years have likely been, and for making his last 34 hours special and loving! Julia B. :( , but :) for the new  at the Bridge!

I am so sorry that you had to make this decision, but I know that he knew love through you and he is free from pain and his failing body. Take care and know that he is running free!

MY heart goes out to you. I know just how fast we can fall for these little ones and that the decision wasn't an easy one. At least he knew he was with someone who loved him in his final days.

Oh, Yolanda, I'm so sorry for you and for Austin. Like everyone has said, you made his final days full of love and joy and that is what is important. You're decision was made with love and respect and I understand your pain. He WILL be waiting for you at the Bridge with wagging tail and a smile of remembrence for his loving angel-mommy.
