This is a request from Tom Flynn, DRNA -Georgia.

I posted this in adoption rescue too. I want to make sure everyone sees it.

Mr. Beasley was adopted by his new family a couple of weeks ago in NC. He was originally owned by a family that made him a yard dog. After several years he was given to a relative that moved him from the yard to the basement. They were gone up to 14 hours a day and finally decided to let us place him. Well, after two weeks in a real home, he has blown a disc in his neck and is in extreme pain; he isn't paralyzed yet, but will be if he doesn't have surgery. Mr. Beasley is four years old and has no prior neck or back problems; this was a total surprise. His family can't afford the surgery he needs, and I'm asking for an early Christmas present to Mr. Beasley. On faith I'm going to tell his family to get the surgery and try to help them raise money for the cost. This would be a major financial issue for most of us if it happened to our dog.
Without surgery he will have to be put to sleep. The specialist estimates a 90% chance of success if we do it quickly.
If anyone would like to help us save Mr. Beasley's life, please contact me.
This is a chance to help with Dachshund Rescue. Not everyone can foster a dog or do transports, or home checks, but you can help save a special dog. At the level where it counts, rescue is very personal. Mr. Beasley is my rescue and I don't want to lose him.

If anyone can, please send help for Mr. Beasley. Any amount you can spare will help to save his life. A lot of us have been there and know what this family is feeling. Tom Flynn is a DRNA member who works tirelessly to find good homes for dachshies. He is very attached to and concerned for Mr Beasley. Mr. Beasley is a very special dog who needs a little help. Please donate so Mr. Beasley can spend his holidays in his new home with his family.
Thanks.
Tanya

unfortunately, Mr Beasley did not survive the surgery. I'm sure the bill is still a big burden on them though. I know any doantions not needed to pay for the bill would be doanted to another rescue dachsie in need though.

I wish I weren't writing this.
Mr. Beasley went to the bridge today at around 4.30 PM.
He went into cardiac arrest four times and they just couldn't bring him back.
My heart is broken. I just can't type anymore
